Way of operation during a trial

The way a trial should be handled

Here you will find an easy tutorial for running a courtroom.

  • Bailif announces judge and has spectators rise

  • Judge will request opening statements starting with the prosecution

  • After opening statements are done, the prosecution will paint the scene of the crime, establishing what was found at the scene of the crime and the defendants involvement

  • Once the prosecution is done, the defense will have a chance at a rebutal in which they will present their first pieces of evidence who will try and prove the inocence of the defendant. If any witnesses are called, the prosecution will be able to cross examine them if they see the need for it.

  • Both parties will take turns presenting witnesses (Both parties have the right to cross examine) and evidence until there is none.

  • Once all evidence has been presented, the Jury will be taken to a seperate room to cast a verdict.

  • Once the Jury reaches a desicion, they are brought back to the courtroom and inform their decision to the Judge who will cast his judgement.

Note: If a trial lasts more than 1 and a half hours, it will stop there and be continued the following day with the same jurors.

The Judge may call a recess at any point during the trial to offer a short break. Lawyers may also request a recess and it will be up to a judge to accept or deny
